New Zealand Native Oils Ltd uses hydrosols in our products. Continue reading to learn about the benefits of this agent and contact us in Kapiti, Wellington if you have further questions.
What Are Hydrosols?
Hydrosols are produced by distilling plant materials through steam. When producing essential oils, some essential compounds are dissolved, and the condensed fragrant steam becomes the aromatic waters or more commonly known as hydrosols.
The hydrosols contain some drops of the essential oil and water-soluble plant properties. These agents are all non-irritating and anti-inflammatory, which makes them good on sensitive skin and can be used for both pets and humans.
Like essential oil, hydrosols have therapeutic properties without the irritant agents. When used properly, hydrosols can help treat the following skin conditions:
- Athletes Foot
- Bee and Wasp Stings
- Body Odour
- Foot Odour
- Insect Stings
- Mouth and Throat Infections
Our Manuka Hydrosol Spray has anti-inflammatory properties. It is also antibacterial, antifungal and anti-viral. It is helpful in combating skin irritations and infections. It is especially useful for sunburn and insect bites.
Manuka hydrosol is ideal for animal care. The Manuka plant’s natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties help with the healing of cuts, rashes, infections and abrasions. It also helps repel some flying insects from the affected area. Please note that Manuka and Kanuka Hydrosol is not suitable to be used on cats.
